Katie attended Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA and graduated with degrees in Multiplatform Journalism and Public Relations & Advertising with a minor of Sociology.

She has been published in Pittsburgh Magazine, Pittsburgh Magazine HOME, Pittsburgh Magazine WEDDINGS, Johnstown Magazine, Pittsburgh’s Nightwire Magazine and The Morrisons Cove Herald.

She has blogged for Pittsburgh Magazine’s “Nest Blog” and “412 Blog” and in the fall 2015, worked with Duquesne’s Off the Bluff magazine, contributing articles and photography to the Brookline issue.

For the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Katie has created numerous press releases and a social media campaign, additionally helping to schedule and assist interviews and appearances between the Trust and Pittsburgh Today Live.

She has run public relations campaigns for clients including the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts at Duquesne University.

Katie has been responsible for the social media of Johnstown Magazine, updating their Facebook page weekly with self-created written and photo content. She has SEO and social media marketing skills and has used these skills in many professional and class settings.

With Pittsburgh Magazine, she assisted in the planning, execution and hosting of Ultimate House 2016, Faces of Pittsburgh and 40 Under 40 marketing events.

Katie is currently the control room manager for “Pittsburgh Hockey Faceoff,” an online television hockey segment being produced by Duquesne Student TV, and has experience producing and creating a newscast.

From a trip in May 2016, she has an understanding of European media outlets. Katie traveled to Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels to visit organizations including Elan Edelman public relations firm, Happiness Advertising and the European Union. She blogged her entire experience in Europe which gave her an essence of travel journalism. Katie is also proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite, social media marketing, creating research, marketing and media strategy documents and utilizing JVC and DSLR cameras and audio and lighting equipment. She possess a knowledge of Google Adwords, Google Trends and Google Analytics.
